Well maybe by now you have heard that DeMarcus Cousins’ (Cousins’s, Cousin’s) phone number has been floating around the interwebs or myface or something. Today in an interview at the the Craft Center there was the following exchange in which Cousins had the press rolling:
Cousins generally had the press eating from his hand as he was interviewed today. This is becoming customary as Cousins is probably the best interview of anyone on the team. He is always entertaining with the press and generally good natured. Answer me this. From this situation, where he was good humored throughout the discussion, even about the N word, does this seem like a guy with an attitude problem? How many people would laugh off the kinds of phone calls he’s been getting? Cousins is a good guy with a good attitude and the ability to just shrug things off despite what those at the “Worldwide Leader” would have you believe. Before long he will be one of the most popular players in the NBA, both for his play on the court, and good humor off. According to Dick Vitale that won’t be until 2011, so I look forward to many interviews like this where Cousins continues to have his way with the media.
On another note, I would like to address the continued prodding by fan bases. It was just a couple of weeks ago that the University of South Carolina student government wrote a letter to UK stating their sports dominance over Kentucky following the fake USC’s victory over UK after Devan Downey’s greatest game ever 9 for 29 shooting performance. Fans continue to write checks and then ask their team to cash them. Now we’ve got two schools with bounced checks likely as both the Mississippi State fans and Gamecocks fans have put their teams in a tough spots with phone calls and letters. This just provides motivation for our boys. I am fully expecting the Florida computer club to now starting sending e-mails to Mark Krebs calling him a nerd. Those meanies. No worries here, my boy Markie is gonna drop a minute and 37 seconds of scamper on them when they come to town.
Now for something completely different. I love “Encino Man” and if you don’t then I don’t understand you. And hey, if you like what you read, don’t be afraid to click on our ads. It helps pay the bills.
